It is so nice to have you here! I am Tamara Rico, a passionate storyteller with 17 years of experience capturing life’s most precious moments. Based in the stunning beach paradise of Cancun, I draw inspiration from the beauty around me, whether it’s the white sand and clear waters or the calmness of the jungle.

MY STORY BEGINS HERE

17 years ago I found myself a single mother trying to support my son.

My sister saved me

My sister was working as a photographer at Claudia Photo, shooting mostly weddings in Cancun and riviera maya. She told me she needed an assistant, I knew nothing about photography, but my english was pretty good, so I accepted. I needed money and time to spend with my son. I just fell in love with weddings, all the families being there for the couple, I had the opportunity to witness one of the most special moments of peoples lives. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was.
But you know “impostor syndrome” I was still calling myself “assistant to the wedding photographer” (the office wink wink) it took me like 2 years to call myself a Photographer.

We started working as a team just the two of us.

My sister started her own studio Citlalli Rico Photography, we started taking workshops and investing in learning everything we could so we would get better. We adopted a photojournalistic approach. Her studio got so good, we were awarded fearless photographer of the year 2011, and the gave us the impulse to keep getting better.

03.

I finally got the courage

I finally decided I was good enough (yay me) and started my own Business as a Photographer, I absolutely love what I do, and know for sure I’m on the right path.

I knew I had found my path…

My son Eli

This child is my world.

Best girlfriend ever!

We all have that friend who keeps failing in love, always with the wrong person etc, so I was that friend. After a lot of therapy and learning to love myself I was the luckiest person to have found Eva, She’s the most loving, caring understanding partner I could have ever ask for.
